【Solicitors as Officers of the Court

The last quarter of the year is the peak season for admissions. While extending our warmest welcome to the new members of the solicitors’ profession, The President wish to take this opportunity to reiterate the important role of solicitors as Officers of the Court. We must conduct ourselves appropriately, measuring up to the high standards expected of qualified legal professionals who play a key role in the administration of justice. As stated in the commentary of Principle 1.03 of the Solicitors’ Guide to Professional Conduct, “As an Officer of the Court, proper standards of behaviour whether in his practice or in his independent business activities are required of a solicitor as a member of an honourable profession.”.
