【LAWASIA Conference (6-8 November)】

 

The 32nd LAWASIA Conference, jointly organised by the Law Society and LAWASIA, was held from 6 to 8 November and attracted over 600 participants from 30 jurisdictions around the world. We were very honoured to have been graced by the presence of the Acting Chief Executive, the Chief Justice and the Secretary for Justice of the HKSAR as our officiating guests at the Opening Ceremony on 6 November. We were very pleased that the Conference had concluded successfully, having fulfilled its objectives of creating a platform for the legal practitioners of the Asia Pacific region and beyond to share legal knowledge, foster international networking and promote the fair administration of justice and the rule of law.

 

We were very grateful for the valuable contribution and hard work of everyone involved with the organisation of the Conference including all members of the Conference Organising Committee and Sub-Committees and the Law Society Secretariat and the support of the speakers, moderators, session chairs, sponsors and supporting organisations. I also wish to extend my warmest gratitude to the conference participants for making the Conference a success.

 

LAWASIA is a regional association of lawyers, judges, jurists and legal organisations, which advocates for the interests and concerns of the Asia Pacific legal profession. Its membership comprises lawyers and peak legal organisations from over 40 jurisdictions. I am very honoured to have been elected as President-Elect of LAWASIA from November 2019 and I will strive my best to continue championing the organisation’s objectives and upholding the core values of the legal profession.
